迎接金馬年，縣長陳福海、議長洪允典、金門防衛指揮部指揮官黃先任等人，在除夕夜的晚間登高太武山，參加海印寺一年一度的大年初一點燈祈福儀式，由海印寺住持性海法師主持，與信眾們一起為來年祈福，願浯島金門風調雨順，人民豐衣足食。

太武山是金門最高的山峰，在許多金門民眾心目中有著重要的意義，登高望遠向神明祈願新年賜福已經是每一位金門鄉親，在新年期間都一定要完成的大事之一，尤其是農曆年初九這一天，登上太武山海印寺禮佛、吃素齋，象徵著一年將是新的開始，也是地區的全民運動。
