為推動文化資產保存與活化，金門縣文化局依據《文化資產保存法》及相關規定，日前於西園后珩社區發展協會舉辦「縣定古蹟西園西宅黃氏開基祖墓修復及再利用計畫說明會」，廣邀地方人士與宗親參與，凝聚修復與未來發展共識。
說明會由文化局副局長李海瑩開場致詞，隨後由計畫主持人林世超教授、共同主持人張宇彤教授及協同主持人陳炳容老師，針對黃氏開基祖墓的歷史沿革、建築研究、損壞調查、科學檢測及修復建議進行完整說明。團隊並提出再利用方向，未來除維持墓葬功能外，亦建議結合在地脈絡，規劃為呈現西園鹽業發展歷史的重要展示與教育場域。
本次說明會出席踴躍，包括地方仕紳、宗親代表、里長及居民等皆到場關心，顯示社區對文化資產保存議題的高度重視。與會者也針對修復方式與未來定位進行交流，逐步凝聚共識。
研究團隊指出，透過史料蒐集、宗親訪談及金門明墓形制比對，已初步釐清黃氏開基祖墓的建造年代與家族發展脈絡。然而，該墓歷經近五百年風化侵蝕，現況損壞嚴重，墓環、墓手多處崩落佚失，僅墓龜保存較為完整，形貌復原成為本次計畫的重要挑戰。
經由此次說明會討論與調查成果，相關復原方向已有突破，並獲得家族成員支持修復及再利用規劃。未來將在維持文化資產「真實性」原則下進行修復，期盼重現歷史風貌，並結合地方鹽業文化，賦予古蹟新的教育與文化價值，延續傳承予後代子孫。
