114年10月1日晚間金湖派出所接獲轄內統一超商通報，稱有民眾至超商欲使用機台操作購買高額遊戲點數，疑似遭詐騙情形，超商店員遂通報轄區員警到場協助攔阻及組詐。
金湖分局長王貞惠表示，面對網路上多樣交友訊息或短訊，一定要秉持多看、多聽、多查證以辨明真偽(金湖分局提供)
金湖所立即由所長郭益銘帶領同仁到場了解關心，經了解為辛姓男子表示於網路上看到可以交友的訊息，於是透過連結加入對方的通訊軟體Telegram的好友並與對方連繫，過程中聽從指示前往超商購買價值新臺幣5仟元整共6筆之遊戲點數，總值3萬元，經到場警方苦口婆心的溝通，辛男取消購買行為，並將請辛男加入165 LINE官方帳號，進行防詐宣導。
金湖分局長王貞惠表示，面對網路上多樣交友訊息或短訊，一定要秉持多看、多聽、多查證以辨明真偽，若有疑慮即應多方查證，撥打165反詐騙專線或110報案專線查證，以防被騙。
